Gibson Gardens' Story and Heritage
This garden was originally farmed and maintained by Jerome & Amina Williams, and Madeline Hamid. After many years of interest and several years of gardening, our urban gardening adventure bloomed in 2013, a year seen as the beginning of the Gibson Gardens' story.
Our goal was to constantly learn, improve, and expand our love for organic gardening and eventually become homesteaders in full bloom, as well as instruct and inspire others to begin growing and eating the best of what nature has to offer.
We view ourselves as part of the urban farming revolution, as well as the inheritors of a heritage that was once the glory of our agrarian forebears. Now we have moved to more space and bigger expectations...

“The greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone. Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend on the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter.” ― Bill Mollison
What We Believe
Gibson Gardens© was an urban homestead that's united in the movement of reclaiming the health and well-being of modern humans by 'going Green' - literally! We still hope to share as much valuable information as possible relative to organic agriculture, natural living, permaculture and other interest, including canning, dehydrating, vegan food preparation and cooking. We believe that that 'which is central to our lives' defines who we are and how we live here and all over Mother Earth.
Gibson Gardens© was a developmental organic urban garden project that is a few years in the making. We're on a mission to facilitate a permaculture farm and self-sustainable homestead as our ultimate goals. This website which reflected our dedication, progress, and interest as we began to explore the process will be deleted soon as it has been replaced with the HomeGrown Farms website.
