Our Environment
We were an urban garden in Saint Louis, Missouri, a part of the Midwestern "breadbasket of America", right on the bank of the Mississippi river. St Louis is across from the sacred North American Indian site, Cahokia Mounds, and was once considered the Mound City itself, which is still it's city's motto.
In zone 6 of the US Hardiness growing zones makes St Louis an ideal place to grow food, though the soil can be somewhat clay-laden at times. Our urban garden was in the 'heart of the city', an area known as, Forest Park Southeast, home of The Grove, just east of Forest Park and south of the historic and popular CWE - Central West End.
